A Journey Through the Wild: Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & Gateway to the Jungle
Your adventure begins with a private pickup from Kuala Namu International Airport (KNO) or your Medan hotel. Relax as we drive you in an air-conditioned vehicle (approx. 4 hours) to the riverside village of Bukit Lawang. After checking in, the afternoon is yours to unwind, swim in the clear river, or take a gentle stroll through the local village.
Day 2: Into the Great Green (Jungle Trek Day 1)
After a hearty breakfast, your professional guides will lead you into Gunung Leuser National Park at 09:00 AM. Over the next 6–7 hours, you’ll navigate lush trails in search of Sumatran orangutans, gibbons, and Thomas leaf monkeys. After a fresh jungle lunch, we reach our riverside campsite. Enjoy a refreshing swim before a freshly prepared traditional dinner served under the stars.
Day 3: Rainforest Secrets & The “Jungle Taxi” (Jungle Trek Day 2)
Wake up to the symphony of the jungle. Today’s trek focuses on medicinal plants and survival skills used by forest dwellers. Keep your binoculars ready for monitor lizards or the elusive white-handed gibbon. After a 4–5 hour trek and lunch, choose between a walk back or an exhilarating traditional tube rafting journey down the river back to the village.
Day 4: To the Berastagi Highlands
We leave the lowland heat for the refreshing mountain air of Berastagi (5–6 hours drive). En route, we visit the golden Lumbhini Natural Park and the vibrant local fruit markets, famous for their highland produce.
Overnight: Berastagi.
Day 5: Volcano Sunrise & The Great Lake Toba
An early start at 04:00 AM takes us up Mount Sibayak for a spectacular sunrise over the volcanic landscape. Afterward, we head toward Lake Toba, stopping at the towering Sipiso-piso Waterfall. A ferry crossing brings us to Samosir Island, located in the heart of the world’s largest volcanic lake.
Day 6: The Heritage of Samosir Island
Today is dedicated to Batak culture. We visit Ambarita to see ancient megalithic stone chairs and Simanindo for a traditional Batak dance performance and museum tour. You will also witness the intricate art of Ulos weaving in a local village, experiencing centuries-old traditions firsthand.
Day 7: Farewell to Sumatra
Enjoy a final breakfast overlooking the lake before we provide a comfortable transfer back to Medan Airport (KNO) for your onward flight. You leave with stories to tell and a soul touched by the wild.
