ITINERARY
DAY 1: Arrival & Transfer to the Gateway of the Jungle
- Pickup: Our private driver will meet you at Kualanamu International Airport (KNO) or your Medan hotel.
- The Journey: A scenic 3–4 hour drive passing through the town of Binjai and charming local villages.
- Afternoon: Upon arrival in Bukit Lawang, check into your hotel and enjoy some leisure time to explore or relax by the river.
- Overnight: Bukit Lawang.
DAY 2: Into the Heart of Gunung Leuser (Jungle Day 1)
- Departure: At 09:00 AM, your certified English-speaking guides from Orangutan Sumatra Rainforest will meet you at your hotel.
- The Expedition: Start a 6–7 hour trek deep into Gunung Leuser National Park, a sanctuary for some of the world’s last wild orangutans.
- Wildlife Sightings: Keep an eye out for Sumatran orangutans, Thomas leaf monkeys, gibbons, macaques, and exotic birdlife.
- The Camp: After a picnic lunch of fresh tropical fruits, we’ll head to our riverside campsite.
- Evening: Unwind with a swim in the river, enjoy tea and snacks, and savor a traditional jungle dinner (including local favorites like chicken, tempeh, and fresh vegetables). The night ends with group games and campfire bonding.
- Overnight: Riverside Jungle Camp.
DAY 3: Flora, Fauna, and the “Jungle Taxi” Return.
- Morning Trek: After a freshly prepared breakfast, continue your exploration for another 3–4 hours.
- Discovery: Learn about local medicinal plants and spot wildlife such as white-handed gibbons, monitor lizards, and endangered orangutans.
- Rafting Adventure: After a fruit-filled lunch, we’ll head back to Bukit Lawang village via traditional tube rafting down the Bohorok River.
- Return to Medan: Between 2:00–3:00 PM, your driver will transfer you back to Medan or the airport, arriving in the late afternoon.
